Module 2: Exploring the Body’s Role in Trauma

- Exploring how somatic symptoms correlate with emotional issues

Module 3: Somatic Interventions and Techniques
- Breathing exercises and their impact on relaxation and healing
- Somatic mindfulness and awareness practices
- Body scanning and deep listening techniques
- Movement and posture as therapeutic tools
- Using touch and sensory awareness in therapy (when appropriate)
- Guided somatic exercises for stress relief and emotional balance
Module 4: Applying Somatic Therapy in Practice
- Integrating somatic techniques into traditional therapeutic practices
- Case studies: How Somatic Therapy can aid various mental health challenges (e.g., anxiety, PTSD, depression)
- Recognizing somatic resistance and working through it
- Ethical considerations and boundaries in somatic therapy

Practical Application (Weeks 5 & 6)
In the final two weeks, no theory lectures will be held, and instead, students will participate in practical application activities designed by the faculty. These activities are meant to consolidate learning through experiential exercises, which may include:
- Conducting a somatic assessment (hypothetical or real-life case study)
- Designing a somatic therapy session (structure, techniques, and goal-setting)
- Participating in live somatic exercises and simulations, either individually or in groups
- Reflecting on somatic interventions and receiving feedback from the instructor
- Developing a personal somatic practice plan for self-care and professional application
Please Note: Original Tests will not be provided. Training will be given on all the tests mentioned above along with case studies and practice.
